The new season starts in the Flintshire Midweek League with the League Pairs Competition at Llay BC on Sunday April 6.
The competition will start at 9.30am and the eague handbooks and completion draw sheets for Divisional Trophies and the Selwyn Roberts Trophy will be distributed at the event.

A League spokesman said: "The League would like to welcome a second tea
m from Nercwys BC and report the decisions of Northop, Northop Hall A and Rhos not to continue in the League.

"All team player registration forms are due for completion and return to the League Secretary by March 31."

Five Welsh indoor bowls players were sent home after coming back to their hotel late following a defeat.

The players, named as David Axon, Ryan Mount Stephen, Stephen Harris, Daniel Gough and Jonathan Tomlinson, were in the team which had lost to Scotland.

The Welsh Indoor Bowls Association (WIBA) described the breach of curfew at the tournament in Perth earlier this month as a "sorry incident".

David Phillips, secretary of the WIBA, said: "For those that play it, bowls is very competitive at all levels. We're no different to any other sport.

"Players are not paid any money but that is not the point. They are still expected to represent their country and we expect them to take a professional attitude towards their sport."
