FOOTBALL - Brymbo docked three points after match abandonment

WELSH NATIONAL LEAGUE - Brymbo have been left reeling with the news that the league committee has charged them for being part of the abandonment in the match against Coedpoeth and have been docked three points.
So it is imperative Brymbo take three points tonight against Chirk AAA but go into the game in confident mood after Friday night's Premier Division Cup Final triumph over second-placed Mold.

At the Adwy, Coedpoeth United have also charged for the Brymbo match being abandoned and have also lost three points so they will be all charged up to get back the points at home to Acrefair Youth.

Tower Fields hosts the Division One League Cup Final between Penley and Bala Town reserves who start the tie as favourites.

There are just two games in Division Two and Corwen entertain Hawarden Rangers and Buckley are at Holt Nomads.

The Division Three promotion race looks like going to the wire and Gwersyllt look in fine shape to mount a challenge for the title and are destined to do well Overton.

At the moment, they are likely to be joined by FC Cefn in Division Two and they should do well against LEX XI.

Chirk AAA entertain Johnstown Youth, Garden Village have a job on their hands against Communities First and Hawarden Rangers are at NEWI Cefn Druids.

Mold Alex yesterday renewed their title push in the Premier Division with a 3-2 success at Corwen who looked to be heading for a point after Elfyn Roberts and James Davies had them level following a double from Stuart Hayes, but a last gasp winner for Sam Roberts keeps them in the hunt.

Garden Village look an odds on bet to lift the Division Two title but they were pushed all the way by Brickfied before edging home 2-1 with strikes from Dave Jones and Dave Edwards.

In Saturday's Division Two action, Garden Village were back on the winning trail and a single strike from Dave Jones enabled them to defeat Borras Park Albion.

Brymbo still haven't given up hope of a top two finish and their 3-1 win over Llangollen will enhance those plans. On target were Ashley Hughes, Damian Jones and Daniel Hannaby with Sean Owen hitting back.

Dave Catherall and Dave Williams combined for Buckley Town to narrowly defeat neighbours Mold Juniors 2-1.

Ruthin Town lost 3-0 to Acrefair Youth whose marksmen were Carl Roberts (2) and Damian Roberts.

Two second half strikes from Elfyn Roberts enabled Corwen to defeat Holt Nomads 2-0.

In the Division Three promotion race, Gwersyllt have taken on the mantle of favourites after walloping Glynceiriog 6-0.

Mynydd Isa, after being so dominant all season, are fading fast and they went down 4-0 against FC Cefn who had Tom Evans and Darren Stretch weighing in with two goals apiece.

NEWI came good to defeat Borras Park Albion 5-0 and making up their nap hand were Joe Price (2), Matt Cooke in his comeback game, Andy Edgar and Mike Taylor.

Communities First stormed to a 5-2 victory over Hawarden Rangers with the help of Darren Taylor (2), Nick Williams (2) and Gomez.

Penley were made to work hard for their 2-1 victory over Garden Village who hit back through centre back Jack Rogers.

LEX XI Reserves have run out of steam right at the death and they were beaten 2-1 by visiting Johnstown Youth who won with the help of Richard Lloyd and Mark Baddeley.

Chirk AAA beat Penyffordd 6-3 with strikes from Tom Humphreys, Dean Riley, Darren Evans (2), Nick Edwards and Chris Hughes.

In the Cymru Alliance League yesterday, Mynydd Isa trailed to a Ben White goal for most of the match but a late leveller from Chris Boulton salvaged a point against Guilsfield.

GAP Queens Park completed their campaign with a goal-less draw at
Llanfairpwll.
