RUGBY UNION - James flies off to join Ospreys
Mold and Wales Under 18 rugby international James King has signed a contract at Magners League side Ospreys.
King, who has represented North Wales representative side, Gogledd Cymru U20s, will take up his position during the summer before playing at a semi-professional club in the new season.
Fellow Gogledd Cymru U20 team mate Joel Galley of Rhyl rugby club has matched the achievements of James by signing for the Scarlets.
The pair have come through a North Wales player development process, and rugby development officer for Wrexham Marc Roberts said: "I have worked closely with both boys over the last few years and can honestly say that both deserve the opportunities they have been presented with.
"Both have made significant sacrifices to get to this stage and I would like to wish them all the best in the future.
"We, as Gogledd Cymru, cannot afford to rest on our laurels and we must continue to produce quality players."
"A mass physiological testing day took place on Saturday, May 3 searching out the next stars from U13-U16s.
"There were strong and outstanding candidates among the players who showed tremendous potential".
Meanwhile, North Wales U20s are getting ready for possibly their toughest test yet as they entertain the Welsh Academicals at Bala on May 18.

Holding on to that 3-0 lead, Wrexham were rocked at the start of the second-half by a converted try from the Llanrwst side who to on to meet the winners of the Mold versus Rhyl semi-final, which is expected to be played on May, 10.
